The latest version of ClassiPress has just been released. This is a maintenance release driven by some minor compatibility issues with WordPress 3.1. All customers should upgrade to this version and update their WordPress to version 3.1 as well.

There was a total of 31 tickets fixed ranging from minor bugs (that were supposed to be part of ClassiPress 3.1 but moved up into this release) to issues created by the WordPress 3.1 update. A break down of tickets can be found below.

Fixes:

• fixed hierarchy breadcrumb issue where not all parent categories showed up
• fixed tooltip and image upload javascript related issues on the edit ad page
• fixed problem where empty search with a category selected resulted in incorrect results
• fixed all the classes that were labled ad-[classname] and changed the prefix to post-[classname] to avoid Ad Blocker Plus issues
• fixed single ad page contact form which no longer allows you to send messages by just filling out the captcha equation
• fixed custom email headers that caused gmail to send the email as an attachment
• fixed pagination arrows on the homepage that were not working correctly
• fixed warning that was displayed when turning on Hide Empty Child Categories
• fixed css spacing issue for multiple blog categories displayed
• fixed dashboard stats plotting graph in IE
• fixed colorbox so it is compatible with WordPress 3.1
• fixed IE6/7 javascript issue making it possible to edit drop-down fields from those browsers
• fixed tinyMCE so it is compatible with WordPress 3.1. Also fixed validation issues including the issue with chrome and tinyMCE
• fixed edit ad page to properly update new custom posts type tags
• fixed tinyMCE validation error message locations
• fixed styles for edit ad page where image meta data was not floating correctly in IE
• fixed radio button issue both with the edit ad page and with the None selected issue
• fixed clock and folder icons so the bottoms arent cutoff in IE

Changes:

• added option to remove the No Categories text from the categories lists
• added jQuery validation to the comments fields on both single ads and blog posts
• added new cron job viewer tab under System Info admin page

This version includes many new features that were originally planned for
v3.1 and several additional features & bug fixes.

Over 150 tickets were closed out to complete this mammoth release which is
the largest single release we’ve done to-date!

New in this version:

Besides the move to custom post types & taxonomies, updated design, and
admin option pages, there are just too many new features for this post…

This patch included over 60 tickets ranging from bug fixes and a few minor enhancements. The most noteworthy change has to do with child themes. 3.0.3 takes full advantage of child theme capability includingpluggable ClassiPress functions. No need to modify the core functions and risk losing your changes when its time to upgrade. You can override certain functions with your own modified version instead. Seth will be writing a tutorial on how to do this soon.

In addition, this sets the stage for an aftermarket of ClassiPress child themes built and contributed by our community. The door is now open for all you developers and we look forward to seeing your child-themes. An official AppThemes Marketplace will be announced later this year. Other important change: added a nice image container box and centered the main image, by example.

The latest version of ClassiPress has just been released today. It is a general patch release that fixes 10+ bugs and includes 15 or so enhancements. It is recommended upgrade to this release.

Bug Fixes

• fixed sidebars & footer widgets so they now work when cp is translated into other languages.
• fixed google maps get direction function so it no longer gives you a 404 page not found.
• fixed category bug for nav menu and directory home page view of sub cats options.
• fixed TinyMCE js validation on new ad submission form so you dont have to click next step twice and the error message appears correctly.
• replaced all date functions with date_i18n for better internationalization support
• added body background color style to prevent white background on slower page loads.
• added a fixed height to the featured ads slider box so on page load, it doesnt leave a huge space below it.
• fixed % of sellers ad price pricing option bug and spelling error. it now calculates the correct price.
• fixed ad inquiry form confirmation where body has quotes or apostrophes is adds a forward slash.
• fixed new ad submission form step 2 when clicking on the go back button in IE.
• fixed home page pagination bug where blog posts were making it seem like there were multiple pages

Enhancements

• removed title attribute from ad image so hover doesnt show image file name.
• added function to automatically insert an expiration date on an ad if its manually or auto-script created. This fixes ads that immediately expired because they didnt have a date set.
• added new ad submission form validation support for 30 default languages. new option added on the admin settings page.
• added new function (cp_make_clickable) to automatically hyperlink urls or email addresses found in custom fields.
• added new option to override the generic WordPress new user registration and forgot password email headers.
• added custom.css file so you can add their own styles without having to touch the core .css files. Thx Levi.
• added new admin section called advanced options which includes the option to disable core .css files so you can easily build child themes.
• added empty index.php files to the core directories for security to prevent directory browsing.
• on new theme activation, set the default new WordPress user role to contributor only if its currently set to the subscriber default.
• added new trim function to ad listing titles on the home page to prevent pushing the price field down.
• added new option to show zero sub categories in the main menu and index-directory.php page.
• added new plugin called New User Email Setup in the plugins folder. This allows you to customize the generic WordPress new registration emails.
• made some minor adjustments to the styles on how the background gradient image was loading.
